Tottenham Hotspur fans have praised Phil Foden after he defended Harry Kane against criticism.
The Tottenham striker has faced a barrage of scrutiny after his performances in England’s first two Euro 2020 games.
There has been been calls from some sources for Kane to be dropped, as he has struggled so badly.
But Manchester City’s Foden issued a vehement defence of the striker yesterday.
“I’ve seen a few comments blaming Harry – but we didn’t create enough for him to even have a chance. It’s something to work on and hopefully we can keep getting better,” he said to TalkSPORT.
His words went down well with Tottenham supporters, who have leapt to the defence of their top scorer.
Foden’s right
While Kane hasn’t been as lively as expected so far, he must be offered some dispensation for his poor showings.
England have been rather reserved in their style of player so far, with Kane offered very little service.
That being said the Tottenham front man’s touch and link up play has been disappointing at times.
Gareth Southgate will surely not be looking to drop Kane any time soon, though.
The England boss has already said that Kane will feature tonight against Czech Republic and the Spurs man will surely be determined to get on the scoresheet to silence the mounting criticism of his displays.
