Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after Alfredo Morelos was named as the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for March.

The 24-year-old scored in all three of the club’s league games throughout March, including his first ever goal against Celtic.

Steven Gerrard’s side won two of those games, and drew the other after playing out a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park.

Incredibly, it is only the second time Morelos has won the award since arriving from HJK in 2017.

That is why some supporters below have made comments such as ‘finally’ and ‘long overdue’ – he really should have more individual awards since arriving in Glasgow.

The 6-cap Colombia international has scored a remarkable 93 goals in 176 games for the Bears, which makes the fact he has won just two Player of the Month awards all the more baffling.

One positive, however, is that a Rangers man has now won five Player of the Month awards from a possible eight this season, which is excellent.

If that doesn’t put a smile on Gerrard’s face, we don’t know what will.

After his three-goal haul in March, Morelos now has 16 goals in 38 games this season, while he’s also racked up 12 assists.
