
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club’s official account confirmed that Dilan Markanday had signed a new contract.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal which will tie him to Spurs until at least 2022, in news that seems to have delighted some supporters.
Who is Markanday, you may be wondering?
Well, the Barnet-born attacker is described as a clever attacking midfielder on Tottenham’s official website, as well as one who weaves his way into dangerous areas.
Markanday also made his way into the history books when he scored in the first ever match at Tottenham’s new stadium, netting against Southampton’s Under-18 side in a 3-1 win.

Additionally, the forward was named the ‘Best Overseas Player’ at the Under-17 Borgaro Maggioni Righi tournament in Italy in 2018.
In that year, he also made his Under-23 debut in a game against Manchester City, despite being much younger than others in this age ranking,

The teenager appears to be a really bright prospect, and it is fantastic news to see that he will continue to develop his ability with Spurs.
