Tottenham Hotspur fans are delighted that Daniel Levy has apparently shown a willingness to delegate tasks now.
The Athletic claim that the appointment of Fabio Paratici will see the Italian have a big influence on Tottenham’s footballing decisions.
Levy was an unchallenged power at the helm of Tottenham’s hierarchy prior to Paratici’s impending arrival.
However, the sporting director will now be able to offer advice, with Levy reportedly prepared to take slightly more of a back-seat role.
The move comes among mounting pressure on Levy from Tottenham fans.
And while Levy has faced a lot of criticism of late, this move has at least earned some praise.
Finally, some good news
Levy’s action to try and gain more guidance may come as a result of his recent decision making.
The Tottenham chairman has struggled to get a managerial move over the line since Jose Mourinho’s departure, and his thinking seems to have been wayward.
Levy sacked Mauricio Pochettino and appointed Jose Mourinho in a move which never worked out.
He also tried to enter Tottenham into the European Super League, which caused great anger among their fan-base and across English football.
The hope is that Tottenham’s footballing strategy will become clearer under Paratici’s guidance, with positive noises coming out of Italy about the sporting director.
