Everton and Aston Villa transfer target, Conor Gallagher, has stated on Instagram that he is ‘really proud’ to have ‘finally’ made his Chelsea debut on Saturday.
The 22-year-old came off the bench for Chelsea at Goodison Park as Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Everton 1-0 on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
Gallagher was loaned out to Crystal Palace last season, where the all-action midfielder impressed, including earning England caps under Gareth Southgate.

In previous years, Chelsea have sent the player out on loan and questions are being asked this summer, with Everton and Aston Villa being interested in the player, whether the same will happen again?
Two academy players in Mason Mount and Reece James are already thriving in Chelsea colours, so they are proof that he can challenge under Tuchel’s stewardship, but equally, the West London club have also sold the likes of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori in recent times.
Either way, this is what Gallagher posted on his IG after Tuchel made the call to hand him his senior debut on Merseyside yesterday.
SHOULD GALLAGHER STAY AT CHELSEA?
One thing is for sure, Gallagher has earned the chance to play on a regular basis for Chelsea, it’s just a case of whether that door is open for the player.
If not, then there are many teams waiting in the wings, including Aston Villa, with Steven Gerrard seemingly a big fan of the player.
The Midlands side are looking for that number eight before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1 and Gallagher would do well for them.
That’s probably even more paramount given that Villa lost their opening game of the Premier League season when Scott Parker’s newly-promoted Bournemouth beat them 2-0 yesterday.
