Rangers fans will make their return to Ibrox today, 499 days after the Light Blues were last cheered on by a home support – and fans on Twitter are absolutely buzzing to get back in.

For the first time since the Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen in March 2020, there will be supporters inside the iconic Glasgow stadium as Rangers take on Brighton in their penultimate pre-season friendly.

After a late increase in the number of fans allowed in, there will be over 10000 supporters cheering on the Scottish champions after missing out on some massive moments in the club’s history.

There is sure to be a jubilant atmosphere around Ibrox this afternoon and it will continue into tomorrow with the Gers hosting Spanish giants Real Madrid in another friendly.

Having been locked out as Gerrard’s side won the title for the first time in a decade, there will be plenty of happy Bluenoses wandering down the Copland Road this afteroon.

With title hero Shane Duffy also likely to make an appearance following his return to Brighton over the summer, there are even more reasons for Rangers fans to be partying today.

Here are some of the comments from excited Rangers fans on Twitter ahead of their return to Ibrox later today:
