Arsenal have reportedly come to the decision to loan out Folarin Balogun in the January transfer window next month.

According to David Ornstein of the Athletic, the Gunners are eager for Balogun to continue his development out on loan. The striker has spent the majority of the season captaining the U-23s, with the attacker dominating youth-level football.

Balogun signed a long-term contract with Arsenal last summer. However, first-team chances have been hard to come by for the youngster, mainly due to the lack of European football at the Emirates Stadium this season.

The striker’s only senior appearances have so far come in the two opening games of the season as well as a cameo in the League Cup against AFC Wimbledon. And since then, Balogun has played all of his football exclusively for the U-23s.

Indeed, a loan spell is much needed for Balogun. Many Arsenal fans on social media are confused why a decision wasn’t made about it in the summer, with the Gunners having three other strikers ahead of the youngster.

However, it now appears that the 20-year-old will be leaving Arsenal on a short-term basis. And supporters are buzzing that Balogun will finally be playing senior football somewhere on loan.

At just 20, the attacker has plenty of time to develop into a Premier League striker for Arsenal. And on social media, fans are happy that the club have finally made the decision to allow Balogun to leave on loan.

Whilst there are rumours about the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, loaning out Balogun is the right decision from Arsenal, with the striker needing regular football at some senior level.
