Some Bayern Munich fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano reported that they’re interested in Raphinha from Leeds United.
What’s the story with Raphinha?
It was reported over Christmas that Bayern had agreed a deal with Leeds to bring Raphinha to Bavaria.
Unfortunately for the Bundesliga giants, Fabrizio Romano is led to believe that those reports are wide of the mark.
However, the journalist is led to believe that the German outfit are keen on a move for the Brazilian.
“We had rumours during the Christmas period about an imminent move to Bayern. Someone in Brazil reported that it was a done deal with Bayern, but from what I am told, nothing has been agreed yet between Leeds and Bayern. It’s true that Bayern, as well as many other clubs, including Liverpool last year, are looking at Raphinha. We’re speaking about one of the best wingers in Europe, but as of now, nothing has been agreed yet,” Romano said.
Quality player
It’s not all that shocking to hear that Bayern are keen on Raphinha. After all, he is a remarkable player.
He lit up the Premier League in his debut season last term, and he’s only improved this time around, netting eight league goals in just 16 appearances.
Raphinha certainly has what it takes to play for a club of this calibre, and it seems as though Bayern could swoop.
Competition
Raphinha would be a fantastic signing for Bayern, but it has to be said, there is a lot of competition on the wings at the Allianz Arena.
Indeed, Bayern already have Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman who can play out wide, so this move could backfire for Raphinha if he’s unable to usurp any of the already established stars at Bayern.

Fan reaction
Interestingly, Bayern fans weren’t actually too excited to hear this rumour.
In fact, a number of fans urged the club to focus on giving Coman a new deal rather than looking to sign Raphinha.
We can only imagine that these Bayern fans haven’t watched too much of Raphinha, because they seemingly don’t realise just how talented this young man is.
