Tottenham Hotspur might be set to finally sign a wide player.
Spurs have spent a chunk of the January transfer window trying to sign Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And at one point, it was reported that Traore would ‘likely’ be joining the North Londoners.
However, Tottenham didn’t offer enough and now the Spain international is off to Barcelona.
And then there was Luis Diaz, the subject of a £40 million surprise bid by the Lilywhites in midweek.
But Liverpool offered £50 million and now, like Traore, Diaz is off the menu for Tottenham.
It could, however, be a case of third time lucky because according to Fabrizio Romano, Dejan Kulusevski is very keen to play under Antonio Conte.
The Italian journalist tweeted this afternoon that the Juventus attacker wants to join Tottenham, who will sign him on a six-month loan and then pay £33 million this summer.
Salvage
Well, Kulusevski clearly isn’t Conte or Fabio Paratici’s first choice, but they’ll take it.
This has been an awful window for the Londoners but there’s still time to salvage something from it.
ESPN journalist Julien Laurens revealed he believed that Tottenham would sign both the Sweden international and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the window shuts.
And if you’d told Spurs fans that they’d finish the window with two new players, and no major departures, wel a lot of supporters would’ve probably taken that.
However, Paratici still has to get both deals done first and given how things have been going for the Lilywhites in 2022, don’t put the mortgage on there not being any delays or collapses.
