According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have scheduled a medical for Atlético Mineiro wonderkid Savinho, who was a target for Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Well, it was UOL who revealed that Arsenal wanted to sign the 17-year-old prodigy, although it seems Manchester City have beaten them to his signature.

Romano believes a €6.5m (£5m) deal plus add-ons and a sell-on clause has been agreed between Atlético Mineiro and Manchester City.

A medical has now been booked, and the deal is in the final stages with paperwork set to be completed soon.

By the sounds of it, Arsenal can kiss Savinho goodbye.

You can see what Romano wrote on Twitter in full below.

After landing the services of Kayky in 2021, it looks as if the Citizens have hoovered up another precocious talent from Brazil.

Even Edu, with his contacts in Brazil who helped find Gabriel Martinelli, couldn’t fend off the power of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal shouldn’t worry about Manchester City signing Savinho

Of course, it would’ve been nice for Arsenal to have Savinho, as he’s a huge prospect.

However, the Gunners already have exciting talents of their own coming from Hale End, such as Omari Hutchinson.

What would someone like him think if Arsenal went out to sign teenage talent from abroad, rather than place their trust in him?

After the success of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, Mikel Arteta should have no qualms whatsoever about utilising the incredible Hale End Academy.

For all we know, the Gunners might have someone better than Savinho right under their nose.
