French outlet La Provence claim the two Premier League sides have been alerted to the Marseille midfielder’s form this season, while West Bromwich Albion have already had a £13million bid rejected for his services.
The 22-year-old has not missed a single Ligue 1 match for Marseille this term, clocking up 37 appearances in league and cup already as he becomes renowned as one of the first names on the team sheet.
Anguissa’s defensive-minded ability allows him to intercept, tackle and head the ball well, before giving a nice simple pass.
The Toon boast four first-team central midfielders in Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Mikel Merino and Mo Diame, but a ball-playing central midfielder would be the perfect fit alongside Anguissa.
Alongside a playmaker, Anguissa would thrive as he would compliment his teammate’s flaws, and vice versa, making him the perfect partner to form one half of Newcastle’s holding midfield as Rafa Benitez continues to place his faith in 4-2-3-1.
England international Shelvey, 25, is arguably Newcastle’s most gifted passer of the football, and partnering him with Anguissa would give the Toon one of the best central midfield partnerships in the Premier League.
