The Slovakian youngster has instead joined Slovan Liberec until the end of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Filip Lesniak (C) in action
Emil Kovarovic, the agent for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Filip Lesniak, has revealed the Slovakian could have ended up on loan at Sheffield Wednesday this season – prior to his move to Slovan Liberec this week.
Speaking to the club’s official website, as cited by efotbal.cz, Kovarovic stated that a deal with Wednesday was on the cards, but the two club’s failed to reach an agreement:

“Filip has played from the age of fifteen, ever since his arrival in Tottenham. Prepared there gradually to the edge of the A team, with whom he trained, but played for the junior. The year we wanted it that Filip went to play adult soccer.
“Before we have developed a loan to Sheffield Wednesday, where he was very interested, but the clubs could not finally agree. Now it’s the chance to go to Liberec, which we took as a sporting challenge for the next football growth.”
Lesniak is considered a big talent at Spurs, although it is looking increasingly likely that he will struggle to make it into the Tottenham first-team.

However, Wednesday would have been getting hold of a very talented player who would have certainly fitted into Carlos Carvalhal’s style of play.
The Owls finished runners-up in the Championship play-offs last season but have not made big moves in the transfer market to continue that promotion push into next season – even if their one and only signing Steven Fletcher is a brilliant piece of business.

Lesniak would have been a great improvement to the team but the Slovakian will now be trying to make an impact in the Czech Republic.
