Dedryck Boyata joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on loan from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Benkovic joined Celtic on loan from Premier League club Leicester City in the summer transfer window, having moved to the Foxes from Dinamo Zagreb in August for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £13 million.
The 21-year-old centre-back has said that he can learn from 27-year-old Belgium international central defender Boyata – who has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Manchester City for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million.
Benkovic told The Glasgow Evening Times: “I didn’t train so many times with Dedryck because of the international break. But when I did we trained very well.
“Here there are some new tactics which I like and I know myself I have space to improve on each level of my game.
“Dedryck is here and there are other defenders too but we played on Thursday night after playing together in my first game too and I can learn because he’s a very experienced player.
“He’s played all his career at the top level and he plays for Belgium too so I’m very happy to be at a team with these big players.”

Good partnership
Benkovic and Boyata are playing well together at the moment, and Celtic do seem to have found a strong central defensive partnership.
The Croatian central defender is still very young and learning, but next to him is a very experienced Boyata, who played well for Belgium at the 2018 World Cup final in Russia in the summer.
