The Swede was expected to complete a permanent move to Leeds United but there are issues that need to be resolved.

As reported by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Adam Pope, a FIFA spokesman has commented on the situation surrounding Pontus Jansson’s protracted move from Torino to Leeds United.
The centre-back spent this season on loan at Elland Road and he was expected to complete a permanent transfer after reaching a pre-agreed number of appearances for Garry Monk’s side.
Leeds fans had been hopeful that a deal would be officially announced by now. However that could be some way off after the latest comments.
The FIFA spokesman is quoted as saying: “We can confirm that there is a standard contractual dispute between the two clubs in connection with the international transfer of Pontus Jansson.
“Since investigations are ongoing and until proceedings are complete please understand we cannot comment further.”

This follows a report from Italian website Toro News over the weekend which claimed Torino believe they are owed £3.5million for the defender’s sale, which they say should have been paid as soon as Jansson played his 20th match for the Whites.
Torino allegedly want the money now, although Leeds are reportedly hoping to pay the fee at the end of the player’s loan agreement, which runs until the end of June.
