Leeds United are working their way down the list of available managers, and they’re not making much headway at the moment after being rejected by a number of their top targets.
Carlos Corberan, Arne Slot, Marcelo Gallardo and Andoni Iraola have all been pursued to no avail, and now, Leeds may have to start looking further afield.
Gennaro Gattuso is a name that hasn’t yet been mentioned as a potential manager for Leeds United, and, in our view, there are several reasons why the former AC Milan and Napoli manager would be a great fit for the club.
Firstly, the ‘fiery‘ manager is known for his passion and intensity on the sidelines, something that is sure to resonate with the passionate and demanding Leeds fanbase. He is a football fanatic who always puts his heart and soul into the game, and his players respond in kind.

Leeds are always at their best when they have a manager who gets the club. Someone who would put everything on the line for his players and this fanbase, and Gattuso fits that bill.
Of course, it’s been a while since the Whites moved away from the ‘Dirty Leeds’ nickname, but Gattuso’s aggression certainly wouldn’t go amiss in a team famed for their uncompromising nature.
It’s not as though Gattuso is a bad manager either. Look at his CV, he’s taken charge of some of the biggest teams in Europe such as Napoli, AC Milan and most recently Valencia – where he was recently sacked.
Another aspect that makes Gattuso an attractive candidate is his experience of playing at the highest level of the game, including winning the Champions League with AC Milan. He understands what it takes to succeed at the top, and his winning mentality is sure to rub off on the Leeds players.
Gattuso’s passion, experience and knowledge is bound to make this Leeds squad bond in this trying time, and that’s exactly what they need after a dull spell under Jesse Marsch that sucked a lot of the excitement out of Elland Road.
He’s not been linked yet, but Gattuso to Leeds would make sense for a number of reasons.
