Rangers host Feyenoord at Ibrox on Thursday night.

Rangers’ true level is the Europa League rather than the Champions League – at least that’s the opinion of Feyenoord winger Sam Larsson, as he told The Herald.
The Gers are back in European action this week, as they host Jaap Stam’s Feyenoord in a fascinating encounter at Ibrox on Thursday night.
Rangers went through a tricky qualifying campaign to make it this far, seeing off Legia Warsaw with a last-gasp Alfredo Morelos header at Ibrox last month.
Their reward was a difficult group alongside Porto, Young Boys and Dutch outfit Feyenoord, with whom there are many links to over the years.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Michael Mols and Bert Konterman all played for both sides, and even played in the Champions League with Rangers in the early 2000’s.
That feels like a long, long time ago now, with Rangers just looking to establish themselves as a good Europa League side before hopefully returning to Europe’s premier club competition.

Now, Feyenoord winger Larsson has admitted that, if he was being totally honest, Europa League is the true level of both teams, feeling they’re not really Champions League material.
Larsson is looking forward to playing at Ibrox, where the Swede could go up against his international teammate Filip Helander if Steven Gerrard gives him a start.
“I think if we are honest and maybe Rangers too, the Europa League is more of our level,” said Larsson. “I think both us and Rangers will be in competition to qualify. I’ve never played in Scotland before so that will be a first for me,” he added.
