Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has become something of a contract rebel at Anfield as he approaches the end of his deal.

The 2016 signing from Newcastle is a free agent at the end of the season, and Liverpool have so far been unable to get him tied down to a new contract.

It currently seems likely that Wijnaldum will move on for free over the summer, and Barcelona have been heavily linked with a deal.

However, Feyenoord fans seem to have hope that he will end up re-joining them when his Liverpool deal ends in 2021.

Wijnaldum was born in Rotterdam, and joined Feyenoord way back in 2004, coming up through the ranks before making 135 first-team appearances.

He was sold to rivals PSV Eindhoven in 2011 to raise funds, but he remains a Rotterdam favourite – and that has been seen today.

Feyenoord sent a birthday to message Wijnaldum as he turned 30 today, and fans clamoured to tell him to ‘come home’ to De Kuip.

Some even think he will score against rivals Ajax next season, and feel he is now the ideal age to go home to Rotterdam.
