Fernando Llorente disappointed for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

The list of criticisms that Tottenham Hotspur fans have for Fernando Llorente is just about longer than one of Arsene Wenger’s jackets.
But perhaps Spurs supporters can add foresight to the ever-increasing list of areas where the Spaniard needs to improve.
Llorente had arguably his worst game for Tottenham on Saturday as Mauricio Pochettino’s side needed an 82nd-minute equaliser to draw 1-1 away to Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

With that in mind, perhaps the Spaniard should have given social media platforms a wide berth afterwards, but the former Swansea City hitman, a £12 million deadline-day signing last summer, posted a message on Twitter and swiftly received a torrent of abuse from fans of the North London club.

You can forgive Spurs fans’ frustrations. After all, the 32-year-old has only managed two goals – one in the Premier League – in 22 games across all competitions for the Lilywhites.
As far as upgrades go, he isn’t much better than Vincent Janssen, who had his fair share of limitations, but perhaps he would have kicked on after a difficult first season at White Hart Lane which culminated in just two goals from open play.
