Tottenham snapped up Fernando Llorente on deadline day.

Tottenham Hotspur completed two incoming deals on transfer deadline day, with striker Fernando Llorente a surprise capture from Swansea City in the final stages of the transfer window.
Spurs first tied up the signature of right back Serge Aurier, with the right back completing his move from Paris Saint-Germain, arriving as Kyle Walker’s replacement.
Then, in the dying embers of the summer transfer window, Spurs struck again, landing Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente on a two-year contract, with BBC reporting that the fee involved is around £15million.

Llorente, 32, joined Swansea from Sevilla last summer, and after an initially slow start, he did end the season with 15 goals in 33 games as he fired the goal to keep the Swans in the Premier League.
A Spanish international who made his name with Athletic Bilbao, Llorente had been expected to join Chelsea given that his former Juve boss Antonio Conte is in charge at Stamford Bridge, but Spurs swooped in to strike a surprise deal.
Spurs have mostly focused on signing young players with potential under Mauricio Pochettino, so swooping to sign an ageing yet effective target man in Llorente is a major shock right now.

Yet, Llorente will provide a direct option when Tottenham need a goal, and proven cover for Harry Kane. After completing his move to North London, Llorente took to Twitter to send two messages – one to Swansea fans, and one to Spurs fans.
Llorente thanked Swansea fans for their amazing support, claiming he felt lucky to play for the club in his year at the Liberty Stadium, admitting it was a great pleasure to play for the Swans.
He then added that he is delighted to be a Tottenham player, and is truly grateful for the warm welcome he has received from everybody connected with the club, as Spurs get to know their new signing.
