The Tottenham Hotspur duo have struck up an impressive understanding in recent weeks.

Tottenham ace Fernando Llorente spoke exclusively to the club’s official website about the partnership that he is forming with Heung-Min Son, highlighting how important the South Korean is to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Spurs duo linked up to great affect last time out against Newcastle, when Llorente chested the ball down to Son with 10 minutes remaining, before the 26-year-old fired home for the late winner.

The Spaniard has proven to be somewhat of a key figure for Tottenham during the last few weeks, with Harry Kane out injured, and he is beginning to forge an excellent understanding with Son.

Llorente spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and suggested that he and Son compliment each other very well, highlighting how much Spurs need the South Korea international to be firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season:

“Sonny is another key player for the team. We need him a lot and I hope now he can get back to showing many of his best performances and help us achieve what we want. It’s a good dynamic between me and him – I think we complement each other very well. He has a lot of quality and we have to try to do our best with him now and try to score a lot of goals to help the team.”

Next up for Tottenham is a home clash against Leicester City on Sunday, and both Llorente and Son will surely have to be on their best form once again, if Pochettino’s side are to rack up another vitally important three points.

Spurs are right in the mix in the Premier League title race, and they quite simply must continue to win their games, if they are to keep the pressure up on Liverpool and Manchester City above them in the table.
