Fernando Llorente may have played his last Premier League game for Tottenham Hotspur, after his uninspiring cameo appearance against Watford.

Tottenham turned to Llorente when they were 2-1 down at Vicarage Road at the weekend, but the Spaniard failed to make much of an impact after coming on.

Llorente has had a difficult time with Mauricio Pochettino’s side since arriving last year in a £14 million deal (the Guardian), and it could be that he has now represented Spurs in the Premier League for the last time.

With Heung-Min Son returning from international duty soon, and Erik Lamela anticipated to be fit again for Spurs’ next competitive match, Pochettino’s attacking options are suddenly much stronger.

Lamela and Son are surely bigger game-changing options than Llorente from the substitutes’ bench.

And with the January transfer window only months away, Llorente could realistically fail to see any more league action for Spurs, unless Pochettino’s side have another injury crisis in the forward areas again.
