Fernando Llorente comments on his Tottenham Hotspur future

Fernando Llorente is out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has been quoted as saying by AS that he would like to sign a contract extension at the club.

The 33-year-old former Swansea City striker, though, has also suggested that he is open to leaving Tottenham should he get the right offer.

AS quotes the striker as saying: “If I renew for a year, I would be delighted, the project is exciting here at Tottenham, but we will be attentive to any call that may come.”

New contract at Tottenham Hotspur?

Llorente is out of contract at Tottenham at the end of the season, and the North London outfit may not decide to hand the striker a new contract.

True, the Spaniard is scoring goals at the moment, but he is also missing chances and is 33 years of age.

Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Tottenham, and with Son Heung-min also scoring goals and able to play upfront, the North London outfit may not have any need for Llorente.

Llorente scored for Tottenham against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday evening and against Watford in the Premier League last month.

According to WhoScored, Llorente has made three starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
