Rangers are interested in signing Dykes from Scottish Premiership rivals Livingston in the summer transfer window, according to a report in The Daily Mail in June.
The Gers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic are also interested in the 24-year-old striker, who is valued at £2 million by his club Livingston, according to the report.
Rangers striker Jermaine Defoe suffered a hamstring injury this week, with manager Gerrard adding that it could now accelerate a move for a new striker, as quoted in The Daily Record.
Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “Lyndon Dykes has been mentioned and he would definitely bring something different. Yes, he can be an aerial threat, but he isn’t bad with the ball at his feet either.
“The style Steven plays is totally his prerogative but sometimes in this game it pays to have Plans B and C and Dykes may just offer something they don’t already boast in attack.”

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Dykes scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 25 Scottish Premiership appearances for Livingston last season.
The 24-year-old also scored one goal and provided one assist in two Scottish Cup, and scored two goals and provided one assists in the Scottish League Cup, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
