The former Rangers star believes that Morelos is a “massive asset” for Steven Gerrard’s side, and that the Colombia international striker being on form will be very important in the Gers’ attempt to win the Scottish Premiership title next season.
Ferguson wrote about Morelos in The Daily Record: “I’m not saying he can stop Celtic from reaching 10 in a row on his own. Winning titles is never all down to what one guy contributes.
“But Morelos is a massive asset when he’s on his game. I watched him win a number of games last season when he was almost unplayable.
“He looked dangerous and hungry and when he is at the top of his game he brings the team up to a different level.”

Big player for Rangers
Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is arguably the best player on the books of Rangers at the moment.
Gerrard will need the 23-year-old to score consistently next season for the Ibrox club to compete with Celtic for the league title.
The Colombian found the net 12 times in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this past season, according to WhoScored, but goals dried up after the mid-season winter break, and that is one of the main reasons why Celtic just raced ahead of the Gers.
Lyle Taylor situation
One striker Rangers have been linked with is Charlton Athletic’s Lyle Taylor.
According to TEAMtalk, the Gers are among a number of teams who want to sign the 30-year-old on a free transfer this summer.
The Montserrat international striker, who is out of contract at the Addicks at the end of the month, has told Sky Sports that he does not plan on training or playing for the Championship club this month.
Former Arsenal and Aston Villa star Paul Merson has given his take on Taylor’s situation, and he seems to understand the player’s stance.
Merson wrote about Taylor in The Daily Star: “I’d be amazed if he doesn’t already have a club lined up to be honest. Why risk all that by getting injured when your contract ends in a couple of weeks?”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “Fair play to him. It could send Charlton down, but he’s got to think about himself.”
