Here we go again. Everton are about to move into yet another new era after the sacking of Rafa Benitez last week.
The Spaniard has gone, and he’s been replaced, at least temporarily, by Everton legend Duncan Ferguson.
The Scot is once again taking interim charge of the Toffees, and he’ll be hoping to have a similar effect to the one he had back in 2019.
Indeed, after the sacking of Marco Silva, Ferguson was put in charge on an interim basis, and it’s fair to say he did a good job, famously getting the better of Chelsea in a 3-1 win at Goodison Park.
Of course, if Ferguson wants to repeat that trick, he’ll have to get his team selection spot on, and with that in mind, we’re having a go at predicting the Everton starting XI for this one.

We think that Ferguson will stick with the 4-4-2, but he may ring in a couple of changes.
It’s the same back four that lost to Norwich. Yes, there are arguments to be made that Seamus Coleman should be dropped after his recent shoddy showings, but he is the club captain and Ferguson will probably want him as his on-field general.
The midfield also remains the same, but don’t be shocked if Andros Townsend comes off the bench at some point.
Rafa Benitez was influential in bringing Salomon Rondon to the club after linking up with the Venezuelan at both Newcastle and Dalian Yifang, but we expect him to be dropped in favour of Richarlison here.
