Rio Ferdinand has singled out Leeds United star Jack Harrison for praise on his YouTube channel FIVE, after the winger scored the winning goal against Brentford on Sunday. The Whites remained in the Premier League, just.
Harrison, 25, lashed home an injury-time winner – something that has been a highlight of Jesse Marsch’s 12 games in charge – to beat Brentford 2-1. With Burnley losing to Newcastle, a point would have been enough.
But Harrison – who is a target for Newcastle and Tottenham this summer – lashed home a winner to put it beyond doubt. The celebrations in West London were incredible, as Leeds booked their place in the top tier again.

Ex-Leeds defender Ferdinand discussed the Whites remaining in the Premier League and underlined his delight at seeing his old club stay up. He praised Leeds, and singled out Harrison for his form over the last two years.
“Leeds have done remarkably well to stay up. Harrison, by the way, who’s been a good player for them in the Premier League for the last two years, comes up with the goods late on in that game. Last-minute goal, brilliant.”
Ferdinand praises Leeds star Harrison: Can Whites keep him?
Harrison has emerged as third Leeds player that could leave the club in the coming weeks and months. Raphinha is expected to join Barcelona, while Manchester City and other Premier League clubs want Kalvin Phillips.
But the belief at Elland Road has been unwavering. Should they stay in the Premier League, then realistically, only one big name would be sold this summer. That remains likely to be Raphinha. It depends on the price.
Leeds need to keep Harrison. He is an underrated part of their success. Work rate, desire, goals and assists. If Leeds had a regular striker, he would have a lot more than two assists to go alongside his 10 goals this term.
