The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker suggests he could return to England before he hangs up his boots.
Fenerbahce’s Robin Van Persie
Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie has reportedly hinted at a potential return to the Premier League in an interview with former club Feyenoord, picked up by the Express.
The former Arsenal forward racked up over 130 goals for the club in an eight-year spell at the Emirates, but it was his move to Manchester United in 2012 that hit the headlines, with his desire to win a Premier League title not sitting too well with Gunners fans.
His move to Old Trafford proved to be vindicated but with the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, the dream soon turned sour for the Dutchman with neither David Moyes or Louis van Gaal able to step into the Scotsman’s shoes and van Gaal allowed the 33-year-old to leave for Fenerbahce last year.

But speaking ahead of his side’s Europa League clash with Feyenoord on Thursday, van Persie, who misses out through injury, told Feyenoord TV he could be open to a return to the Premier League but that family would play a major factor in deciding his next move.
“We’ve moved around in recent years and that suits me very well,” he said, quoted in the Express. “Over the years I have seen that you cannot really plan your career and you have to take it as it comes.
“There are all kinds of things in your path and you accept it or not. That’s how I will approach the last few years – I’m open to everything.

“I’ve been away from the Netherlands for 13 years and that suits me fine. Whether it’s in England, Turkey or wherever.
“The kids are involved. They are even more English than Dutch because they grew up there. There comes a time when they also get a bigger say in where they’d like to live and be.”
Should van Persie desire a return to the Premier League, it’s unlikely his age and injury record will land him a role at a Champions League side, but his goalscoring record is still pretty impressive with 144 goals in 280 games.
His experience would prove a useful signing for a club trying to crack the top six of the Premier League, with 22 goals last season showing the Dutchman still knows where the back of the net is.
