Out of favour Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu has struggled for game time at the King Power but he might be receiving a lifeline from home.

According to a report from Fanatik, Fenerbahce are keen on taking Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu on a season-long deal in the coming weeks.

Soyuncu has failed to nail down a spot in the starting lineup since making the switch from Bundesliga side Freiburg last summer. The young Turkish international managed just six appearances in the Premier League last season which is nowhere near enough for someone of his quality.

The potential sale of Harry Maguire to Manchester United could potentially have opened the door for Soyuncu to get a regular chance with the first team. However, the Foxes have been heavily linked with a big-money move for Brighton’s Lewis Dunk who would again be a roadblock to Soyuncu’s path into the first team.

Fenerbahce are in dire need of a new centre-half with Serdar Aziz and Sadik Ciftpinar being the club’s only experienced option ahead of the new season. Soyuncu, a Turkish international, would no need time to settle in and he would be a wonderful signing for the Yellow-Navy Blues.

A year out on loan will certainly help the former Freiburg man improve and Leicester could come to a conclusion about his future at the end of next season depending on his performances in Turkey.

Brendan Rodgers will need to take a call in the coming days but Fenerbahce have a lot more time on their hands as the transfer window in Turkey is open until the end of August.
