Moise Kean ‘felt very bad about being sold’ to Premier League outfit Everton and now wants to stay at Serie A giants Juventus for the long haul, the Italy international’s brother tells Tuttosport

At the age of just 22, Kean’s football career already seen more ups and downs than a weekend away at Alton Towers. First came that remarkable breakthrough season at Juventus; a teenage Kean also becoming the youngest goalscorer in the Italian national team for around 60 years.

Then an ill-fated £27 million move to Everton. A prolific, 17-goal loan spell at Paris Saint-Germain followed by a difficult second spell in Turin. A seemingly never-ending spin cycle of promise and subsequent disappointment.

But, after returning for yet another stint at Juve, the proverbial penny appears to have dropped for Kean at last. He went into the World Cup break on a run of four goals in three Serie A starts, including a brace against Lazio which tasted all the sweeter after Biancocelesti boss Maurizio Sarri sold him to Everton against his will in the summer of 2019.

Now, according to Kean’s brother, he is happy, settled, and hoping to earn himself a permanent move back to Juventus.

“He has never been about to leave and does not intend to. Neither now nor in the future,” Giovanni Kean says.

“On the contrary, he has pushed to return to Juve. It’s his home. (Juve coach Max) Allegri was the first to realise his progress. What a delight to see him score a brace at Lazio under the eyes of Sarri, who did not want him.

“Kean felt very bad about being sold to Everton.”

Juventus, per Calciomercato, will have to stump up £34 million to end Kean’s miserable spell as an Everton player. A £7 million profit, meanwhile, is particularly excellent business for the Goodison Park outfit. Especially when you consider Kean scored just two Premier League goals for the Toffees.

“The last year was the most difficult of his career,” Kean’s brother adds. “But it served as a lesson for him. I was sure he would come out of it because he has character and, when he feels confidence, he manages to prove himself.

“He has worked on his weight and his head. He’s like a monk! But he is (still only) at 70 per cent and has ample room for growth. He is only 22. In Paris, many thought he was a goner, but he scored 17 goals in one season.”
