West Ham United and Leicester City may want to sign Marouane Fellaini in the summer transfer window, but the former Everton midfielder reportedly prefers to remain at Manchester United.

According to The Mirror, West Ham and Leicester are among six clubs who want to secure the services of Fellaini on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the 30-year-old’s preference is to stay at United if he gets at least a new two-year contract, ideally three.

It has been reported that United and the midfielder, who is claimed to earn £80,000 per week as salary at Old Trafford, will hold further talks this week.

Moving on?

United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and arguably the biggest in England, and one can understand why Fellaini would want to remain at Old Trafford.

After all, joining West Ham or Leicester in the summer transfer window would mean playing for a mid-table position in the Premier League or for survival, while at United, the Belgium international would be challenging for major honours, including the Champions League.
