Leeds United goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald has jokingly told Deichstube.de that he does not have any problem with Pierre-Michel Lasogga now that he is his teammate.

Wiedwald joined Championship club Leeds from German side Werder Bremen in the summer transfer window.

Lasogga also moved to the West Yorkshire outfit in the summer of 2017, making a season-long loan switch from Bundesliga side Hamburg.

Bremen and Hamburg are fierce rivals in Bundesliga and contest the Nordderby.

Wiedwald, 27, has jokingly said that he does not have any problem with 25-year-old striker Lasogga now that he can turned from a rival to a teammate.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has suggested that his players will not need any extra motivation against Leeds United this week.

United will take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Championship on Friday evening.

The Blades are third in the league table at the moment with 27 points from 13 matches, level on points with second-placed Cardiff City and just two points behind leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Star quotes Wilder as saying when informed that United ‘wouldn’t need any geeing-up’ for the match against Leeds: “They don’t need any geeing up for any game. I’d be embarrassed if I had to gee my team up. That would be a right insult.

“Whoever puts a shirt on for this football club knows that. There might be times when standards slip a little bit and we’ll jump on that when it does.

“But not on a Thursday or a Friday. These are top class lads with top class attitudes who give their all in every single game.”
