Felix Wiedwald was selected to start for Leeds United against Leicester City, but he failed to impress.

Felix Wiedwald’s latest performance for Leeds United has just made Thomas Christiansen’s life a whole lot easier at Elland Road.
Wiedwald was selected to start for Leeds against Leicester City in the League Cup last night, but his shaky display only went to confirm that he should remain on the substitutes’ bench when the Championship action starts back up again.
Christiansen showed great faith in Wiedwald at the start of the campaign, and continuously picked him to start in goal.

However, after a terrible display against Sheffield Wednesday last month, the Danish boss was left with no choice but to bring Andy Lonergan into Leeds’ starting line-up.
Lonergan has gone on to play in Leeds’ last two matches, with Wiedwald having to watch from the sidelines.
And if Wiedwald was wanting to win his place in the team back then he missed his opportunity last night.

The German stopper was at fault for the first goal that Leeds conceded on the night, and he simply never looked comfortable.
Lonergan now will surely come back into Leeds’ line-up for their match against Sheffield United at the weekend, and it shouldn’t be a decision that Christiansen has to think too hard about.
