There was no doubting that the 27-year-old was under extreme pressure to improve his performances, but he did not crumble and responded well.
Wiedwald has now proven reliable for a number of weeks, and if he continues to progress until the end of the season, Leeds’ may no longer need to look for a new number one in the summer.
