West Ham United have been linked with a stunning move for Felipe Anderson and it appears selling club Lazio already have plans for the money.
West Ham are trying to sign Lazio star Felipe Anderson to mark a new era under Manuel Pellegrini, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old winger scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in an injury-hit season for Lazio last term during which he helped the Rome club to the Europa League quarter-finals.
The move has excited West Ham fans as Anderson has proved to be one of Lazio’s key players for a number of seasons, having signed from Santos for just £6.75m in 2013.
In 177 appearances across five seasons for Lazio, Anderson has scored 34 goals and provided 42 assists.
West Ham are actively trying to do business before the World Cup begins in Russia following the arrival of Pellegrini as their new manager.
And it appears West Ham could be close to clinching something of a coup after the Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Lazio have already decided what they want to do with the money they receive from the Hammers.
Gazzetta suggests Lazio want to use the money from selling Anderson to finance a move for Sassuolo’s Matteo Politano.
The Brazilian has been linked with a summer move to the Hammers, with a deal possible for around £35m.
And Gazzetta say part of that money would be used to get Politano as a replacement in a deal expected to cost the Rome club around £23 million.
