Norwich fans on Twitter have provided a mixed reaction to their club selling Jamal Lewis to Newcastle United.

It has been a busy few days for those in Newcastle because, after the captures of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, they added Lewis to their books.

He will add much-needed quality and depth to Steve Bruce’s backline and it could even be argued that he gets straight into the starting XI ahead of Paul Dummett.

There was a selection of Norwich supporters who wished their academy product good luck at St James’ Park and they think he could do the business in the North East.

Equally, there were others who felt that other more talented youngsters within their squad were going to move before him.

But Norwich, who were relegated to the Championship last season, will now hope that they can keep the majority of their star players as they plan to bounce straight back.

Meanwhile, Newcastle fans will be pleased that some much-needed freshness has been added to the squad because the morale around Tyneside was pretty low after all the takeover saga.
