Arsenal defender Cedric Soares has said that he is not currently injured ahead of their game against Chelsea tonight.

Cedric has not featured at all regularly for Arsenal lately, despite Kieran Tierney’s injury issues.

The Portuguese defender has been ignored by Mikel Arteta, who was favouring Granit Xhaka over him, before picking Bukayo Saka ahead of him at the weekend.

And Cedric has now confirmed that he hasn’t been being left out of a result of an injury issue.

Cedric’s tweet just makes his omissions at Arsenal look slightly bizarre.

Cedric may have been signed as back-up, but it must have been tough for him to see a midfielder starting ahead of him, when he looked the natural choice.

The 29-year-old has generally looked solid when called upon by Arsenal, but Arteta hasn’t fancied him at all of late.

And there is very little reason to believe that he will feature against Chelsea this evening, despite being fully fit.
