Everton fans have been excited about Tom Davies for quite some time, but the club’s recent struggles have unsurprisingly had a negative impact on the teenager’s own form.

Under Ronald Koeman, Davies became a shadow of the player who had burst onto the scene at the end of the 2015/2016 season; however his performance against Swansea City last time out suggested he is ready to make up or lost time.

Davies was integral in Everton’s 3-1 victory against the Swans, giving Sam Allardyce’s side something they lacked in the man he replaced, Morgan Schneiderlin.

Still only 19, Davies should benefit from the feel-good factor that the new Toffees boss has brought to Goodison Park. After all, young players develop best when playing in sides that have no fear and have the fans on their side.

You would be hard pressed to find many teenage footballer that thrive on relegation battles and Davies can now unleash the shackles and play the football that should see him reach new heights under Allardyce.

An Everton superstar in the making, Davies needed this change as much as any of his Toffees teammates, and it is already evident in his improved performances.

It will not be long before Allardyce simply cannot leave the player out of his starting XI and, considering his performance earlier this week, that could come as early as Saturday.
