Ian Wright told Premier League Productions during their live coverage of Arsenal’s defeat to Everton on Friday that it would have been ‘very uncomfortable’ for Vinai Venkatesham to personally contact the other 14 Premier League clubs.
Arsenal went from sticking their chest out by announcing they will be part of a European Super League last Sunday to apologising to fans for their actions by Tuesday night.
The reaction from across the footballing world was remarkable, with Arsenal’s owners coming under some serious stick, alongside the other so-called top-six.
But Wright didn’t like the fact that Arsenal’s Chief Executive was the one who had to contact the other 14 Premier League clubs to personally apologise (Sky Sports).
“It must have been very uncomfortable for him,” said Wright. “You have to feel for those people.
“When you look at the inception of this, it doesn’t make sense to anyone who has a sense or any football knowledge.
“This is why football fans have to be at those meetings where those top billionaires are.”

Even before this European Super League fiasco, the Kroenke’s were unpopular with those in North London.
And this just adds further fuel to the fire in Arsenal wanting the owners to sell up as soon as possible.
Whilst that’s the dream for the Arsenal faithful, more than likely, in 18 or so months time, the American’s will still be in charge.
