Newcastle United centre-back Federico Fernandez and Jamaal Lascelles have worked in tandem together so far this season.

Fernandez only arrived at Newcastle in the summer, in a £6 million deal from Swansea City (Sky Sports).
The Argentine centre-back has quickly been thrust into Newcastle’s starting line-up though, and formed a partnership with Lascelles.
Although the Magpies form has been poor, Lascelles and Fernandez have actually performed fairly well alongside each other.
And Fernandez has now spoken very highly of his centre-back partner at St. James’ Park.
He said: “I’ve been impressed with him.
“He’s a typical English centre-half, strong and decent with the ball and enjoy playing with him and I think it’s worked really well.”

Despite the encouragement of the pairing between Lascelles and Fernandez, Newcastle still have struggled for results over the campaign to date.
The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City last weekend, which extends their winless run.
Newcastle are currently sat in the relegation zone and there are fears that they could be fighting a battle against the drop all season starting to form.
