Former Tottenham defender is confident in his abilities.
Argentine defender Federico Fazio is certainly confident in his abilities, having rebuilt his career at Roma in the past year.
Fazio signed permanently with Roma this summer after a successful loan spell at the club last season.
As he prepares for his second Champions League game of the season with the club, Fazio insists he is not daunted by the Giallorossi’s potentially switching him from the left of central defence to the right.
But his comments about being successful everywhere he has played in his career are likely to have Tottenham fans doing a double take.
The 30-year-old told Tuttomercatoweb: “I’ve played all my life at 4 and I’ve won pretty much everything.
“Last year I played at 3 and I still did well, so anyone who doubts just look at how I played before coming to Rome.
“I’m ready to play 3, 4, left or right, striker, I’m ready for everything that the coach needs.”
The thought of playing Fazio as a striker is enough to make most Tottenham fans shudder, although he may not be as bad as he was at centre-back for them.
Fazio was often a walking red card for Spurs, with his lack of pace exposed by Premier League teams.
He has been a success in Italy because of the slower style of football, and he is key part of Roma’s first team.
The move has really worked out for everybody, and he appears to have quickly erased his failure at Spurs from his memory.
Fazio’s Roma travel to Qarabag this evening as they look to get their first win after being held to a draw at home by Atletico Madrid in their opening group game.
