Fazio made three times as many interceptions as the rest of the Spurs defence combined, and won the same amount of aerial duels as Dier, Davies and Vertonghen totalled.
For just £8 million, Fazio is beginning to look like an excellent addition, and a far superior player to captain Younes Kaboul.
Just like with Ben Davies, his cut-price addition may well be a shrewd piece of business this summer, showing Tottenham’s eye for talent may not be so poor after all.
