Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry, yet the winger’s past comments on former club Arsenal could complicate matters.
The German international is one of the top goalscorers in the Bundesliga, with the forward already into double digits for the season and is leading the charge for Bayern to reclaim the German top-flight title as well as win the UEFA Champions League title.
Yet according to Bild, Gnabry could be out of Bayern this summer, with Tottenham keeping tabs on the former Premier League winger. The forward, who earns a reported £115,000-a-week at the Bavarian giants, is yet to sign a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in 2023.
Indeed, such a position should put many of Europe’s top clubs on alert over Gnabry. However, according to the player himself as per CBS Sport, the Premier League club that has the best chance of signing him is Tottenham’s hated rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal return more likely for Gnabry than Tottenham move

It is perhaps no surprise that the German international has said Arsenal are ‘favourites’ to sign him should Gnabry ever want a return to the Premier League.
After all, the winger spent some time with the club’s academy and played his first professional minutes with the Gunners under legendary manager Arsene Wenger.
With Gnabry maintaining a positive relationship with the club and supporters since departing to become the superstar he is today, a move to Tottenham feels almost impossible to comprehend, even if the club can offer the winger higher wages than what the German currently earns at Bayern.
The 26-year-old on paper is exactly what Tottenham need heading into their first full season under Antonio Conte, however, given Gnabry’s ties to Arsenal, it is unlikely neither the player nor the north London side will allow such a transfer to even happen.
