Kaveh Solhekol has told the Transfer Talk on Sky Sports (19/01/21 at 6:40 pm) that West Ham have been offered Montpellier striker Andy Delort.

The Sky journalist claims that sources have told him that Delort has been dubbed the ‘fastest player in the French first division’ and ‘faster than Kylian Mbappe’.

West Ham aren’t the only club linked with the 29-year-old’s signature because French outlet, Le Buteur, also claimed that both Newcastle and Wolves have made him a priority signing this month.

This is the information Sky journalist Solhekol shared about Delort and West Ham.

“I have also been told that West Ham have been offered the chance to sign another Montpellier striker [after Gaetan Laborde], a player called Andy Delort,” said Solhekol.

“He has scored 17 times in 41 games. I have been told three or four Premier League clubs are interested in him and a source close to the player is telling me that he is the fastest player in the French first division.

“He’s even faster than Kylian Mbappe. That’s what I am being told.”

Whilst Michail Antonio is a reliable goalscorer for West Ham, he isn’t reliable in the injury department.

Any minor or major issues for him then West Ham are in trouble, but that doesn’t mean that they go out and buy a player for the sake of it.

Those in the East London boardroom aren’t renowned for having a great track record when purchasing strikers, so anyone replacing Sebastien Haller won’t have big boots to fill.
