Some Leeds United fans have responded to a video tweeted out by the club regarding Illan Meslier.
Leeds’s official Twitter page has put out a video of the goalkeeper celebrating Pablo Hernandez’s late winner against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the Championship at the weekend.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper, on loan from French club Lorient at the moment, ran all the way from his goal to the opposition end after Spanish attacking midfielder Hernandez scored what eventually proved to be the winner this past Sunday.
The youngster has been playing regularly in goal for the past few games due to the suspension of first-choice goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
The France Under-20 international has been superb between the posts, looking very calm and assured under pressure.
Casilla is available again after serving his suspension, and it remains to be seen if Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa brings him straight back into the starting lineup against Barnsley at Elland Road on Thursday evening.
Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan does not want the youngster to be dropped against Barnsley, and said on BBC Radio Leeds (3:47pm, July 12, 2020) when asked about the prospect: “Absolutely not.”

Some Leeds fans have been impressed with Meslier’s attitude and ability between the posts, as shown in the following posts on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest central defender Michael Dawson raved about Leeds on talkSPORT (9:15am, July 13, 2020), and said: “It looks like they are about there. They have been probably the best team over the season. Really attacking, they have got a way of playing, and it looks they are about there.”
