Rangers have just clinched an unbeaten season – but they’re already thinking about next season.
The Gers have two players arriving on pre-contract agreements this summer with midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh and attacker Fashion Sakala arriving.
Sakala confirmed his move to Rangers earlier this month, with his Oostende contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The Zambian forward has impressed this season, and now gives Rangers a bargain option to play out wide or up front.
On Wednesday evening, Sakala played in his final home game for Oostende, and signed off in style by scoring twice in a 2-2 draw with Mechelen.
Sakala’s time in Belgium ends this weekend against Standard Liege, but he at least excelled in his final home outing, taking his tally for the season to 16 goals in 34 games.
After playing in his final home game, Sakala spoke to Voetbalkrant, claiming that Oostende will always be in his heart and he will even tell other African players to join them.
“It was a good way to say goodbye,” said Sakala. “I was hoping for that victory, but saying goodbye with two goals is also nice. I could even have made three.”

“I don’t count my time in Russia, because I played for the second team. In three years I learned a lot and became a better player and person. It was a fantastic journey. The club believed in me. I started by missing a penalty against Anderlecht, but the fans started to sing my name and I forgot about the bad moments.”
“Oostende will always hold a special place in my heart. What they have offered me here, I will never forget. It was fantastic. I will advise many players in Africa to come and play here if they ever get the chance. Here they will get opportunities,” he added.
Sakala also posted an emotional farewell message on Twitter as he gears up for his Ibrox move, with Rangers fans no doubt excited to see him in action soon.
