Featuring players from Liverpool, Manchester United, Southampton and Chelsea…
The international break is over and Premier League football is back this weekend, and that means it’s time to frantically sort out those fantasy teams.
Injuries from the international games and deadline-day signings mean that fantasy managers have been playing wildcards ahead of the fourth Gameweek, as a result of so many more options since the last round of fixtures.
Manchester United saw Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao arrive on deadline day and despite a slow start, the Red Devils will be attracting plenty of fantasy interest, especially as they host Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
Chelsea meet SwanseaCity at Stamford Bridge in a clash between the only two remaining sides with a 100 per cent record, while Arsenal travel to Manchester City on Saturday in what should be the game of the weekend.
Here are five players to consider for Gameweek 4:
DEF – Nathaniel Clyne – Southampton
Clyne has started the season brightly and will be fresh for this weekend’s visit of Newcastle United as he has had two weeks to prepare for the game. Newcastle scored their first three goals of the season in their last match, but the Saints will be confident of keeping a clean sheet this Saturday, while Clyne’s attacking threat down the right makes him an enticing option for fantasy managers.
DEF – Dejan Lovren – Liverpool
Liverpool entertain Aston Villa on Saturday and the powerful centre-back is expected to help the side keep their second consecutive clean sheet. Lovren was excellent at White Hart Lane during the Reds’ 3-0 win and will hope to shut out a Villa side that has exceeded expectations so far. Lovren’s attacking threat from set-pieces makes him the best option at the back for Liverpool.
MID – Raheem Sterling – Liverpool
Another Liverpool man to seriously consider if he’s not already in your side is Sterling. The young star continues to improve as a player every time he plays, and two strong performances for England during the international break prove he is in great form. With Daniel Sturridge out and Mario Balotelli still learning the new system, Sterling is set to be the Reds’ most dangerous threat in the final third, and will look forward to testing the Villa defence on Saturday night.
MID – Angel Di Maria – Manchester United
The Argentine playmaker endured a tough debut as United drew 0-0 at Burnley, but Di Maria was the most exciting player on the pitch for Louis Van Gaal’s side two weeks ago. An incredible display against Germany saw him pick up three assists and a goal in a 4-2 win, and he could put on a show for the home supporters on his Old Trafford debut against QPR this weekend.
FOR – Diego Costa – Chelsea
The Spaniard has been named as August’s Player of the Month after a solid start to life in the Premier League with Chelsea, and he should continue to find the net when they entertain Swansea this weekend. The Swans have been good, but Chelsea have looked unstoppable and their six goals at Everton last time out proved that the Blues are set to be an attacking force this season, so make sure you acquire Costa if you haven’t got him already.
