Tam McManus has praised Celtic midfielder Scott Brown on Twitter.

The former Hibernian forward, who now works as a pundit for PLZ Soccer, is impressed that Brown made his 600th appearance for Celtic today.

The former Scotland international midfielder was in action for Celtic in their Scottish Premiership game against St. Johnstone at Celtic Park this afternoon.

It was Brown’s 600th appearance for the Hoops, having joined the Glasgow giants from Hibernian back in 2007, and former Hibs forward McManus has praised him.

How did Scott Brown play against St Johnstone?

Brown may be 35 years of age, but the Scotsman remains one of the best and most combative midfielders in the Scottish Premiership.

However, against St Johnstone today, Brown had a disappointing game, as Neil Lennon’s side had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The Scotsman gave away too many needless fouls, could not impose himself on the game, and did not offer enough protection to the back-line.

According to WhoScored, Brown had a pass accuracy of 82.8%, won two headers, took 43 touches, and made three interceptions and one clearance.

Like many of his Celtic teammates, Brown is not having the best of seasons, and fans will hope that he rediscovers his form soon.
