Martin Keown has heaped praise on Eberechi Eze – a player who was released by Arsenal – after he scored two more goals for Crystal Palace earlier on Saturday.
The Londoner – who was let go by Arsenal in 2011 after five years in the Hale End academy – scored his ninth and tenth Premier League goals of the season when opening the scoring against Bournemouth.
After Eberechi Eze found the net for a fifth and sixth time in seven Premier League games, Martin Keown shared his thoughts.
What’s the story?
Well, the Arsenal legend called Eze a “fantastic talent” while discussing Crystal Palace‘s opening goal on BBC’s Football Focus.
Keown said: “I really like Eze. He’s a fantastic talent and deserves to be back in this side. They are going really well at the moment Palace.”

Of course, it was a long, long time ago now, but Arsenal must seriously regret their decision to let the 24-year-old leave.
Eze has since blossomed into one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League, with Gareth Southgate even including him in his provisional England squad for EURO 2020 before a serious knee injury struck in training.
Eze heartbroken by Arsenal release
The Crystal Palace No.10 has previously spoken about how it felt to be released by Arsenal at the age of 13.
Eze told the Daily Mail: “At a young age, it was hard, especially being released. Me and my mum cried, everyone was so upset. That’s all you know at that age.
“But looking back at it now, that’s the start of my journey and I’m grateful to God that’s how it went. If it wasn’t for that, I may not have got the resilience, bravery, to go and be who I want to be elsewhere. It’s shaped me to be who I am today.”
Nowadays, there aren’t many clubs around who wouldn’t like to have Eze on their books.
