According to Sky Sports, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners paid £60 million for Szoboszlai.
The 22-year-old Hungary international attacking midfielder has hit the ground running at Liverpool and has become a key figure in manager Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Szoboszlai has scored one goal in six Premier League matches and has played 29 minutes in the UEFA Europa League so far this season.
The £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) Hungarian has earned praise from pundits.

Like Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
And, like Szoboszlai, Mac Allister has established himself as a key figure in the Liverpool midfield.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina, has made six appearances in the Premier League and has played 29 minutes in the UEFA Europa League for the Reds so far this campaign.

Mac Allister told Liverpool’s official website when asked about playing alongside Szoboszlai: “I’m really happy. Dom is a fantastic player.”
Liverpool are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
The Reds are second in the league table at the moment.
The Merseyside club have picked up 16 points from six matches.
