Speaking on BT Sport’s coverage of Tottenham vs Dinamo Zagreb (11/3/20 8PM kick-off), Peter Crouch has once again lavished praise upon Harry Kane, claiming that he’s almost Spurs’ best midfielder.
The striker netted twice against the Croatian outfit, but it was his performance from deep that caught the eye of the pundit.
Indeed, once again, Kane continuously dropped into the midfield, spraying passes and creating chances for his teammates, and that’s something Crouch was seemingly very impressed by.
“The one mainstay is Harry Kane. I mean his performance today was fantastic,” Crouch said.
The pundit then went on to analyse his two goals before talking about his impact when dropping deeper.
“It’s just his all-round involvement because he creates so much. He’s almost Tottenham’s best midfielder and centre-forward you know? It’s amazing, his vision. I do think Son helps him with the dynamic runs he makes, but he also has the awareness and knows when he needs to be in the six-yard box to finish things off.”

It would be interesting to watch Kane play in the midfield for just one game.
Of course, Kane is such a goal threat that he has to play as a centre-forward, but his range of passing and ability to pick out a killer ball would make him a great midfielder.
Perhaps that’s something that could be explored later in his career if he loses a yard of pace or his legs begin to go, much like how Wayne Rooney did in his final year at Everton.
